Oh yes, definitely do something creative or engaging to capture that energy. Do you have hobbies or is there anything you've ever wanted to try? These moods are good for trying things you wouldn't ordinarily so how about
taking a dance class or signing up for a painting workshop? Do you garden? Something that won't suffer if you have to leave it alone for a little while if you have a depressed period, but will make you feel good.
Do you keep a mood chart? That can help your doc decide if you're a rapid cycler and help you track patterns in your moods. Here's one example at The Massachusetts General Hospital Bipolar site
