Hi everyone, I am a 41 year old female that has been diagnosed with Bipolar II. I have been battling this demon for about 20 years. I have been on every medicine known to mankind. It works for a while then it stops. I am on Lamictal now. I feel a little better but am loosing my hair and am now dealing with anxiety, agitation and enough anger to where I think I can bite the head off of a snake!! That is me in a nutshell.. ha ha no pun intended......

Hi newlife1,

Welcome to the board.

Usually Lamictal is prescribed in conjunction with other medications to treat the other symptoms like anxiety, agitation and anger. Lamictal is the mood stabilizer, but usually a psych will give a drug to help control the specific moods as well. Please try once again with your psych and explain you'd like something to help with your manic symptoms.
