Alcohol & Lithium

I have my own opinions about this but I am only 1 person and I was wondering what other people think about this. If a person who is taking Lithium (Which naturally dehydrates the body) combines it with Alcohol (Which also dehydrates the body) is it a big problem? I guess the question is "Can you combine Alcohol & Lithium? If so, what is a safe quantity?"

not being a doc, I couldn't tell you what exact quantities of safe limits are, and not being on lithium, I couldn't give you any practical wisdom say of how much I had used while on the medicine, but I can tell you that common wisdom is that alcohol and any psychiatric medications are contraindicated.

I don't know a safe quantity of alcohol and lithium. Based on my own experience, when I drank enough alcohol to dehydrate myself it was too much.
