Greetings, all. New here, 4+ years into the diagnosis. My official diagnosis is Bipolar with Complex PTSD with history of suicides. Since my diagnosis, I have lost two grandmothers and my mother. My mother lost a hard four year battle with breast cancer, so go Pink! I am currently navigating the disability maze and am trying to get on state care as we were unable to continue our Cobra payments.

My intro reads like a sob story, but after 3 suicides, there's a reason I'm still here. Probably my two kiddos, who my friends basically took away from me. That's a long story that I haven't even gotten into in my journal. I have a great sense of humor, which has gotten me thus far.

I have yet to find meds that work, but am currently on lithium and keppra. I don't like either of them and am so tired of the medicine game.

While here, I hope to learn through some of you that have gotten something working and feel like something other than a pariah.

Well, I loved my therapist and my psychiatrist, but my husband lost his job in November, and we couldn't afford COBRA after March, so I'm seeking help via the state's mental healthcare plan. I finished the intake interview and have a therapy appt early the first week of June and another psych evaluation shortly thereafter.

Hello and welcome to HealingWell .  I just had to welcome you when I read your name as it made me smile. 

I understand about the insurance red tape and trying to get help but the first of June is only a few days away so hopefully you will get set up with a new Pdoc and you can sort out the meds and get the help you need.

I have Major Depression but not bipolar.  I understand the depression well.
