| Hi my name is Penny, and I have a son who is almost 15, will be in a couple of weeks, he has seizures and is on Topamax. I hate this medication,...........he has many of the side effects of this drug,...depression, suicide thoughts, anger (uncontrolable), along with just hormone things going on for a teenager,............with this has been very difficult on him as well as the family. You know the term Mr. Hyde and Dr. Jeckel,............well, that is what if looks like with my son. He is a very sweet kid,..........he loves the Lord, he loves his youth group,..........he is kind hearted, ect. But just in a drop of the hat,.........he could turn into this kid I do not know.
Recently we were told about a new device called Vagus Stimulator. We (my husband and I) are seriously looking into this, but I would like to know from others who have had this procedure done,............or who has done great research on it,........I would like to know the pros and cons of it. Is there anyone who would be willing to share what they know about this procedure. I have read many things about it,..........and I like what I am reading. But if I could get someones personal feelings on this, I find it would be very helpful.
My son, hates the things that are taking place for him,.........but we obviously just can't take him off his medication. I would ever so much appreciate anyones input. Thank you so much
