Hospital

Hi everyone,

 

ended up in the hospital today because i had uncontrolable twitches and was seeing things like colors on the ground that were not there. I was told that it was from my zyprexa but I dont by that one bit. The er dr. looked puzzled. so I got a shot in my iv of adavan and it stopped the tremmors. some of the color is back to normal. The worst part about going to the hospital had to be that my human resource lady was in the same er and i was not in a priivate room so she could have heared anything that was said. That made me so mad! Now i will feel weired around her. Just wondered if anyone has had this happen to them on zyprexa? Should I be woried? What would you say to HR who dosen't deal with our disabilty claims but an ins company does so that way we are not judged. So much for that now. Let me know anything that may help.

I'm so sorry you ended up in the hospital. I hope you are feeling better now. My guess is the HR woman was in the ER and had her own problems to deal with. I wouldn't worry about it. I know the stigma against bipolar is strong, but only you and me and everyone else with it can fight it, by being just who we are and not afraid to talk about it. If she asks you about it, then you have the right to tell her you do or don't want to talk about it. But IF she heard anything (which is a big if) she probably has the good sense to keep it to herself.

My Mom had been misdiagnosed with Bipolar and was recently diagnosed with Bipolar II.

If I'm remembering correctly the first thing they did was take her off Zyprexia because while it is good for Bipolar it seems to cause people with Bipolar II problems. My recollection is that she'd been on it for 18 months and at first it helped her a lot, then she got more and more odd little symptoms and they were never attributed to the Zyprexia until we had to bring her into the ER and she stayed for observation.

I may not be remembering this correctly and it may not apply to you, but if you think it might be helpful it's something you could run by your doctor.
