There are very big differences and just a smidgy bit of research will point you in the right direction. I don't know what you've done on your own, but on our main page, there's a "sticky" thread called bipolar resources, and part of those resources are a number of websites which are respectable, and talk about the symptoms of bipolar disorder. Look them over and see if they apply to you at all or if you feel that you identify with the disorder at all. There are also a number of books you can check out of your library and take a look at. My favorite is one called "The Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide" by David Miklowitz. Again, learn as much as you can about the disorder and see if it fits you. If it does, great. If not, that's great too. But at least you'll be able to explain why when you talk to your doc.
