Hi All,
I'm really sorry to hear about your challenges. But the one this you should know is that you are not alone. My father has been dx with bp not just now 10 years ago. My family has seen great obstacles during these years but theres only so much one can and then finally the relationships break down. Before we know that my dad was dx with this disease, we thought black magic was the reason that all the abuse and violence was taking place in our household. We have moved away from my dad but he threatens to kill himself if we don't come back. Biploar patients do not realize that they are causing pain to those people who they are living with. One day they will act nice and the other day rude and you'll try to guess what was it that you did to make him/her upset but there won't be an apparent reason. This is because they do action without reasoning. My father was seriously ill, insecure, that's why he had a problem with stalking and suspecting kids and wife having an affair and waking up during nights guarding the door. I just have to suggest to all those people who are suffering from this disease or people who are living with someone who has this disease that get educated about this as much as possible, then seek counselling to cope with it and teach all family members, especially kids how to cope with this and resort to leaving the relationship as the last option. Even though they may act in a certain manner they really love and want to be with their family, and the fact that they want to take medication is the most important sign that they want to make a change but what they go through and do to others is beyond their control. My family has seen serious close to death circumstances at home and my father has gone to psychiatric ward several times we've even gotten help from social workers to help us cope. Please visit your holy place or worhsip place with your family and seek guidance from your priest and hopefully god will bless your family.
