I have BPII, GAD/Panic disorder and take the appropriate meds incl.
Klonapin for the anxiety. I have a friend who is undxed and flipping
out and wanted a couple of klonapin. She can't in to see her Pdoc until
Thursday. I had to tell her "No." Here's why:

1. She's taking a lot of other pills...how do I know that the pills I
would give her might contradict themselves and make her sick?

2. How do I know that if I gave her the pills and she had a bad reaction
she wouldn't blame me

3. I feel it's wrong to give out medication that was prescribed to me to someone else

4. I'm not a Doctor!

I told her to go to an urgent care or the E.R. because she's outta' control and needs help
She's not mad at me today and understands. I think I did the right thing but it was an
uncomfortable situation.

That's really hard, lightening. I think you did the right thing, though. You are absolutely right that you don't know how it would react with her other meds, and you don't know how that would effect other drugs her doc might give her later in the week or what dose would be okay. You're also right that if she's that bad off she should probably go to the ER. She's seeing her doc on Thursday, Thanksgiving? Are you in the US? It's good of you to support her, all the same. You can probably understand where she's coming from better than most people.

You definitely made a good decision. Not only is it a bad idea to share prescription drugs, but it's illegal. I have 'borrowed' pain pills before, but only if I've taken them before and looked up any interaction warnings.

You did the right thing.  Never give anyone your prescription meds, all the reasons you listed are correct and it is illegal.  You may have done more harm than good trying to help this person.  I know it is hard to say no, especially when someone else is suffering, but know in your heart of hearts, you did the right thing by saying NO.

Way to go making the right decision. It is hard. I will have to worry when my son turns into a teenager and time to lock all meds up.

It was a moment of truth in that your friend was understanding and a real friend to you.

I am sorry she is going through a hard time now, especially during the Holidays.

Yep...I'm praying for her that she'll be given the right dx and meds.
