Hormonal Birth Control and Choosing a Health Insurance

I tried the Depo shot and it was a complete nightmare for me, it tripled my mood swings and made life nearly impossible so i finally stopped getting it and my boyfriend and i went back to only using condoms. i've heard that all hormonal birth control causes extra mood swings, is this true? has anyone here had luck with a birth control actually helping their moods?
i really want to go back on it because i don't want to have children until i am married and ready (and physically prepared, not on seroquel) for kids, and i really don't trust condoms enough to ensure i won't become pregnant if i continue to use them as my sole source of birth control. especially since i want to avoid becoming pregnant for at least ten more years.

i also need to get myself back on health insurance. the state i go to school in is pennsylvania so i was looking at aetna possibly but i really know nothing about health insurance, i don't know how to find out if they cover prescription costs or psychiatrist visits or whatnot. any advice in this department also? my last insurance was great, my seroquel was only $9 a month.
