She said recovery wouldn't happen being in that situation and it is going to take a lot of therapy to get me to a better place.She said that he was my trigger almost always, because it is usually based on a thought involving him. Thanks for the replies. I will post when I find out the diagnoses.

Well, she did say no recovery if you continue in that relationship. A little different.
Sort of like repeatedly slamming your head into the wall, expecting a different result. I suppose your "wall" situation could change, but wouldn't count on it.
I never heard of getting your diagnosis in the mail. But then again, you won't have to pay for an additional visit if you don't like the diagnosis, comments or her attitude. Hope that will include some useful recommendations.

 I know my pdoc told me that really the only specialists qualified to diagnose are actual phsyicians (gps or pdocs). Perhaps Psychologists can? I am not sure. But if a counselor ever diagnosed me, personally I would be going to a doctor to consult as well. I just don't know who is qualified to actually give diagnosis?

Also, I could be way off as it sounds perhaps she is sending you info based on your talks to direct you to places and provide info...and maybe not including diagnosis, but to point you in the direction to get a diagnosis for yourself?

Either way, I can empathize with your feelings of frustration. I have not been following your posts as I have been depressed and severly stressed, but if you have a troubling relationship, it will make your ability to recover more difficult.

Do you have her card? Any paperwork from the office?
That is a possibility, she's an intake coordinator.
You could call the office and ask them if so and so is serving as intake coordinator, because you had an appt with her and are feeling a little confused about what to expect next. I like the phone because you can always say, thanks, and hang up if they're *****y.

At any rate, the ball is rolling. That's good.
