I have bipolar and I think my son is too.  For the first time I see what my family has gone through with me, because its happening to me.     he lives far away from me and some times will not answer my phone calls.  He is angry, depresses and says he feels lost.  What do I do.  I am moving where he lives in one month but I am worried about him in the mean time.

  Same things you needed, treatment and medication.  IS he at the stage where he accepts this yet? Or is he still in denile? Cause you know you have to accept that there is a problem to move forward with this desease.

He is in denile about the whole bipolar thing.  I am going to work hard to convince him to get help when I get back home.

My psychiatrist informed me when I began treatment that, in most cases, you inherit Bi Polar from a 1st generation relative! My father has Bi Polar, as do I. So, you're probably right!!! But he needs to accept it and be willing and open to the idea of getting help! Maybe, printing out some info about Bi Polar and letting him read it for himself might do the trick. Come to him in a non-confrontational way. Let him know that you understand what he's going through.
I have a brother in the same boat! We all know he's Bi Polar, but he's just not ready to accept it. And until he does, there's not much we can do about itm
