Does anyone get anxious from Abilify?

I have tried several meds after my diagnosis a yr ago and Abilify seemed to work the best.  It pulled me out of a severe depression after suicide attempt in about 2 weeks.  It has done wonders and everryone agree's, but I am always anxious, paranoid and even shaky, always feel like I am going to have a panic attack.  I have told shrink and all he does is up my Ativan.  Also can not sleep after taking it, have to take in morning. Does anyne else have this side effect?

Hi there,

I am by no means telling you what to do with this med but I have to tell you that these side effects happened to me and my pharmacist and pdoc both said they were serious and so pdoc weaned me off right away. Look the info up, these are side effects you are supposed to report to your doc asap with abilify (I realize your doc is aware, but it may be something you have to ask of him if you feel you want to stop the med)

Here are the effects we are talking about

Shakiness, restlessness, agitation

Again, this is just what happened to me...

  i did for the three months i was on it. Glad i switched meds. THat anxiety stuff was for the birds.

get panic attacks on it, at the moment. jamie. second time round on abilify. jamie. will talk 2 the shrink about alternatives. with compassion 2 you all.

I was fine in the beginning but after being on it for a few months, i got panicky and really jittery. If it becomes really bothersome you should discuss other options with your pdoc.

Wow did not realize so many had the same side effects from Abilify..See dr tomorrow so will bring it up..

Hey Jamiee how was shrink?
Told doc again about my anxiety,again, He gave me strattera for ADD! But I asked him to, he was not crazy aboutit , I was on Abilify with Adderall and was fine, so am hoping will work, again. Having surgery in morning so will not talk for a while, but am so happy I found this Forum, It has been so useful! Really appreciate all the advice. Wish me luck!
