I have been with my wife for almost 10 years and it has been nohing short of a roller coaster ride. I love her dearly and would love to keep our family together. She has been diagnosed bipolar ii and we have known for years. We have been on the verge of divorce there have been affairs and i know that its the disease that makes her like this. She is very good at manipulating and getting what she wants and then throughs the wrench into our relatrionship. She has recently told me that she no longer wants to be with me( which happens every so often). I am just so tired and don't know what i should do anymore. I love her with all my heart and we have 2 beautiful children. When I said I do I meant it and I feel lost now. PLZ help

I am sorry you are going through this (and have been going through this pain for some time). I am bp II as well and my relationship has suffered greatly, although for different reasons.

I have been so deeply depressed this weekend, but because that usually causes us to fight, I try to hide it as best I can.

You are right, the affairs, the roller coaster..etc..are the symptoms of our illness but it is important we as the ill take responsibility for ourselves. It is not your fault. Is she stable on meds at all?

The only thing I can suggest is marriage counselling?? Or seeking professional help in some aspect??

It sounds like you care about her and I really wish things were different for the two of you.

 My soon to be ex is exaclty like you described. As a BP person i have mentioned to her that she may be BP also. But she refuses to admit it. So i have no choice but to leave the relationship for my own health.

   In the end we have to "own" this desease or it will completely own us. I was granted a moment of clarity by some higher power and that allowed me to find the peace i have today. People like your wife and my ex havnt come to grips with it yet, its our problem not theirs, they have done nothing wrong and refuse to even discuss there might be an issue.

  In the end, unless she decides to take responsibility for this desease you have no choice but to leave her.
