Yes.

If you are saying borderline bipolar meaning "almost bipolar", then the medical terms are either "Mood Disorder NOS" (NOS = not otherwise specified), or cyclothemia. These are both diagnoses on the bipolar spectrum, both are less-than Types 1 or 2 of Bipolar Affective Disorder.

But you might be referring to "Borderline Personality Disorder" which has some similar symptoms as bipolar disorder.

BPD and BD can both be diagnosed in one person at the same time.

Mood disorder NOS, Cyclothemia, Bipolar Disorders 1 and 2 are mutually exclusive. One person can only have one of these disorders at a time.

Bipolar 1 is the "worst" form of bipolar, although nothing on the bipolar spectrum is normal or easy. 1 has psychotic symptoms and/or mixed episodes.

Bipolar 2 is more common among women. More likely to be rapid-cycling. Rarely reaches a true mania. Spends more time depressed (weeks, months) than hypomania (2 days is average, apparently).

Thanks Tortoise..I was confused because have never had a "mania" mostly depressed, also female among several suicidal attempts, unfortunatly, have anxiety atttacks also and ADD but fortunalty was diagnosed a year ago and things could not be better! But did not know my exact diagnosis or understand it. Once they found a medication for me my life has changed around so much! Plus my pain has decreased Thankyou so much for the insight..much apprececiated!

Crohns Disease, colostomy, Pelvic Floor Tension, Pelvis Adhesions, several reconstructive surgeries for fistulas after childbirth, Interstitial Cystitis, Chronic Pain, Bi-polar, Add, Anxiety, Severe scoliosis
