Got denied social security

I filed for social security a few months ago and I finally got my denial letter a couple weeks ago... I met w/ a lawyer this past Monday, she took all the info she needed, and feels pretty confident we'll win. She said, they don't get pain until/unless I win. I feel better now (knowing we've begun this process)... She said it'll be about an 18 month wait... Seems like forever, but, neighboring counties to where I live have a 24-26 month wait... So at least its not that long.

Sorry, you got denied your social security, but mosy everyone does the first time. It is a long process but you will get it and back pay from when you first applied minus 5 months. I  know we thought we never would get my husband's. Even when he went to court he came out and said he knew he wasn't going to get but I told him he would get it. He only see everything negative anyway. I know it gets worrisome but hang in there. If I had not been working I don't know what we would have done. Not long after he got his started I lost my job and am now on unemployment.

Yeah, my spouse is also disabled and on social security. I get assistance from the state (in place of the social security) until I begin getting my social security. We're doing okay, we're able to pay our bills w/ the combination of our money. I'm so impatient lol, I hate waiting, especially when it comes to money. But its kind of exciting thinking about how much money the 1st check will be when I do finally get it.

I think different states might have different checklists or requirements you have to meet. But when I applied it was for bipolar II rapid cycling, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, manic depressive disorder, fibromaylgia, degenerative disc disease and I got it like 15 months later. You have to have good docs who back you up 100% and keep everything. I didn't have a lawyer for mine, did it on my own. I was lucky because I didn't think I would get it. But if you stay with it and you know you need it, eventually it will come. Stay strong.

Thank u. Yeah, I have all my numerous disabilities listed below. On my denial letter they said basically that I AM disabled, but don't meet their standards. But my lawyer is confident I'll win. I couldn't do it without her, I'd be completely overwhelmed.
