Not a stupid question at all, Dimcha. You should stop using caffeine in any form whether coffee, tea, chocolate or anything else that has
caffeine or theophylline (in tea). It makes bipolar illness worse. It
makes depression worse, as well, just as alcohol does. (You should not use that, either, although you didn't ask about
it.) That's straight from
a psychiatrist's directions.
Please read the RuthWhalen.comcoffee website for her evaluation of caffeine and the serious side effects of using it. You might be amazed.
It's a more serious matter when you have an allergy to it, as I do. Here's a tip for you: we are often allergic to things that we are addicted to, though the symptoms may not be sneezing, etc., as one usually associates with an allergy.
It can take as much as a year to recover from the side effects of caffeine use, among other significant things she indicates.
