I would like to hear effective sleeping pills. Thrazadone isn't working for me.

Hi CamanoGirl,

After taking my Seroquel in the evening, an extra Lorazepam will get me down when needed.

When you take your Seroquel, you don't get drowsy after say 60 mins?

I take the Seroquel extended release and it doesn't have the same sedating effect, which is good for the day time. I may have to go back to the regular cause I can't sleep more than 1-1/2 -2 hours in a row.

Hey there :)

I take Seroquel XR as well as I cannot handle the regular either.

I take Methoprazine 5 mg (was on more but cut back) That combo is great for me. It is used to treat mental and emotional disorders and has sedative properties so it's really helped me with my sleep.

Ask your dr :) I seem to be the only one around here taking it lol

Sleep is vital, so good for you for posting this :)

i take 10mg ambien and it keeps me out for at least 6 hours. no dreams, wonderful blackness.

it does not help me fall asleep, however, so with the approval of my pdoc, i added melatonin. i take the melatonin about an hour before bed, get drowsy, go lay down, take the ambien, and im usually out in 20 mins and stay out for 8 hours.

everyone's different, but ive found this is what works for me. especially the melatonin, because falling asleep is my biggest problem.

Hey there,

As you can see you received all kinds of input but in the end this is something that is individual and what works for one may not work for the next person.  Do discuss with your Dr. what options you may have available to you.

For me, Trazodone 150mgs works well.  Let us hear from you re what your Dr. has to suggest.
