I guess that I have quite Seroquel. I just can't afford $94.00 per week. I did a week of every other day, so that works out to be more like a week and and half. I would say it is going ok physically. Emotionally a little rougher. I am angry, agitated, annoyed most of the time. My daughter added aggressive to the list. I am hoping to hear from Astra Zeneca this week as to whether they will cover my meds.

I understand how you feel, Camano Girl, but don't wait too long before asking your psychiatrist about another suitable drug to assist with stabilizing the moods; your system requires that until you've reached the satisfactory level of balance, then you may begin to cut back as your doctor authorizes.

In the meantime, aspirin will help some in relieving symptoms, and you should switch to sea salt (not American brands which have been refined) to help with balancing acid-alkaline fluids of the body. Stop using anything with caffeine in it, too, please, because that makes the illness worse.

Be careful, the worst of seroquel withdrawal is about 1 week after you are off it. Don't be afraid to go to the hospital if withdrawal symptoms get bad!

I pay a fortune for my meds. I miss out on heaps of other things because I put my health first, but it is worth it. I thought the Seroquel every second day was a really sensible compromise. I just hope you are okay. If your daughter is seeing aggression, that is something important to do what you can to treat. I understand severe poverty and if you really are in the situation you just can't afford the Seroquel no matter how many sacrifices you make, my heart goes out to you. Like IG, try to find another affordable drug solution, if Seroquel just is not possible whatsoever. I hope you get good news from Astra Zeneca but you will need a sensible contingency plan. Unfortunately BP doesn't just go away when we can't afford our meds and the consequences can be serious :( Good luck hun x

thanks LW, I appreciate your concern. I could let go of my cable and internet, but that would only buy me one week of Seroquel. And TV and internet help keep me sane. I am on Disability, so my income is very small. I can cover my bills and that is it. If Astra Zeneca doesn't come through, I will go to plan B, which is trying some other cheaper med. Of course that ends up costing $$, cause I will have to go to the Dr a couple of times to get the new med going good. Maybe I will take a poll online to see what other drugs people take. Get some other options.
I am angry with the whole situation because I didn't want to go on Seroquel anyway. I was concerned that at some point I would lose my insurance and this would happen. arghgghghgh

Yeah, hun, it's a crap situation, but you seem to be doing your best. What a horrible choice to make: internet or meds. The internet is a vital part of our health management these days. I agree with you, it would be damaging to let go of that. I understand you being angry about not being able to afford Seroquel, but please try not to regret being on it in the first place. It seems to have given you a quality of life you otherwise wouldn't have experienced. Loss is a hard thing, I know. Oh, if I had a magic wand, I would make sure you had a lifetime supply of the medication you need, for optimum health and wellbeing. Hugs xxx

Tortoise, I lost my medicaid when I got my disability. I am going to reapply when my son turns 18 and my daughter moves out. I wont be eligible for Medicare for another 15 months.
LW. you are right as angry as I am, Seroquel pulled me back from a crazy mania. It really was working for me. So I am still hoping that Astra Zeneca comes through. I will keep you updated.

Bummer, that is a long time to wait. I had to pay a small premium on Medicaid but didn't lose it.
