So a student came to a master and confided in him.
"i have a terrible temper, i cannot believe how angry i get"
The master simply nodded and said "show it to me now"
The student protested, "Im not angry, i cant show it to you right now"
The master then said "then it cannot be the true you, if you cannot call it when you want"
Everything is this world is every changing. Today you are Red Lightening, tommorrow you may be something else. Take time to explore each side of who you are to gain a better understanding of all that is you . We all want to be good and happy all the time, but to deny our baser instincts is to also deny parts of who we really are.
Each and every emotion we feel has its place in our lives. Even such things as rage, as destructive as it is, has a place. If somone was trying to hurt you or a loved one, rage is one of the feeling you would call upon to help you at that time. Accepting that they are a part of you, in you, and will allways be with you is a way to finding peace in your life.
Living in the moment does not mean not feeling things at all. To me it just means gettign down to the simplist expressions of happiness and joy i can find. A full tummy, a warm bed out of the rain, and people who love me. Pretty much after that its all extras.
When i get angry and agitated i go to the natural world, the sound of water flowing by, the sunlight thru the trees, my best friend bouncing around beside me. The simple joy of my body working and climbing a trail with the smell of pine in the air. I live there, even when i am in a place where i cannot get out, in my mind i can.
Peace friend
