I flew to Annapolis where my oldest son graduated from the Naval Academy! I only got to spend one night but I made it to the ceremony this morning. I was so happy to be able to share this day with him. Even thought I had to cancel my ten day trip with my Mom getting to go with me, ( because of my husband being so ill with a herniated disk, out of work, depressed...,) I rebooked the ticket and went.
I made my son a hand made poetry book with a small dedication to his graduation on the inside cover. I got to pin his new lapels on his uniform and give him his new navy hat. I was only there one day, but I feel like the trip was so worth it because I was able to support him after 4 grueling years at usna.
I also sat with my first ex and he was very kind and nice to me. He used to be very abusive but he stopped drinking ten years ago. I was comfortable in my own skin. My ex even said I was a good person! Wow. I got along great with my in laws...they still love me. It was very healing for me and nice to get away, yet exhausting.
Sometimes things do work out in time. I have to remember that about
the fractured relationship I have right now with my younger teen aged son who became a drug dealer and got into all sorts of trouble out here and moved back to 2nd ex who continues to be extremely abusive. I do not take calls from 2nd. ex. But I do text younger son weekly and slowly that relationship will hopefully come back. But the crises was devastating.
Anyway just wanted to let you all know I am back and I hope you all had a restful and fun weekend!
