Hey guys,

It's an understatement to say I've been through a lot over the past several months. Being off work for two months with the injuries to both hands; issue with bf; new boss at work; lost a friend to brain cancer just three weeks ago (he was 29 years old). It's just been total h***. Not to mention, I have never been so stressed financially. I got into trouble with a credit card (the only card I've ever had). I increased the limit to $5500 last summer so I got a loan to pay it off and am now making huge payments every month for that.

The last two months I have been rapid cycling, but the irritability has been so intense and this past week I've been deeply depressed with of course cycling throughout the day, major irritability and suicidal ideation (no intention or plan). I see pdoc today; he wants to cut out the lamictal and start something new to manage this crisis.

This sucks. These symptoms for the last several weeks have been more than I can handle. I feel like I have totally lost my ability to function. I feel like I can't cope. This is just awful :(

Kudos for paying off your credit card with a lower interest rate loan. That was probably "tough pill to swallow", but a wise decision.
If you're depresed why cut out Lamictal? I'm confused.

I'm sorry about your friend. That sounds very difficult. :(

Thanks guys. Same bf. Things have been much better between us but still can't really talk about my bp.

Tortoise~I'm either ultradian cycling or in a mixed episode so we're going to try tegretol instead. Pdoc thinks the Lamictal isn't helping with the cycling. I find the Seroquel helps the depression. Staying on that of course.

If your diagnosis is BP you should be on 2 meds because 1 only treated 1 symptom either up or down and usually makes the other one worse. Some of the new meds say they treat both like lamictal but they don't. I would def. ask your pdoc about this. Not a medical statement just my experience idea

  We just got done frozen yogurt. And i do mean we. Moose got half of my treat. LOL LOL Thats why im losing weight, thor gets half of my food. LOL

Yes Recovery, still on two meds though. Can't take the tegretol, it effects birth control, so back to the drawing board on Aug 20. Thanks for your input!

Bill!~You always know what will make me smile...To date, that is my absolute fav picture of Thor!! Love it! Thanks! Aw, I wish he could eat my bad food so I could lose weight!!

I'm trying to hang in there. Wish I could stop this cycling.....
