So confused...

Hello. I am new to this forum and could use a little advice. I am am in my 40's and over the past few years my health has really deteriorated to the point I am filing for disability. I am have rheumatoid arthritis and have chronic pain. I also have severe pain throughout my body and symptoms reflect fibromyalgia but I have not been diagnosed. I am seeing a counselor for sever depression, anxiety and panic attacks. counsleor referred me to a psychiatrist. I was told by psychiatrist that I might be manic depressant and counselor feels I am as well. I was placed on cymbalta and seroquel to help with depression and sleeping problems. I don't sleep but a few hours a night and wake up from pain, and or nightmares. I feel so scared from the nightmares and they seem so real. I have had drastic mood swings all my life and since taking cymbalta I feel so pissed off all the time. I told my counselor I feel like Im gonna blow and I go from 99 (100 i'd blow) percent pissed off to 90 percent pissed off but have not blown yet. I go from nearly blowing up and wanting to tear my house apart and the feeling to just destroy anything to feeling so depressed in the same day. I wake up at night screaming in my sleep that I wake myself up. my mind races to where I can not stop thinking...psychiatrist said take seroquel and you will feel better in two weeks...I feel more tired but I don't feel any different. Still racing mind and nightmares, lack of sleep, tired all the time, in pain constantly and suicidal thoughts. How do I stop from blowing up and dealing with the anger. I tell my family that I don't know why I am mad, I just am. I'm just looking for some help...

I have been having anxiety, stress, depression, panic attacks, mood disorders, along with nightmares for the past 12 or more years. I started rheumatoid meds in 2008 and havn't felt the relief from the disease. I have a stressful job and between trying to hide my depression/anxiety along with the chronic pain, I just can't do it anymore. I have always been angry at times, sometimes of the pain and sometimes I just didn't know why. Taking the cymbalta and seroquel, I seem to be angry more often and at a little higher level... I went to my family doctor who had me on Paxil, hydroxyzine and gabapentin, and explained I am feeling angry. He told me to stop taking the cymbalta and seroquel and put me back on gabapentin. I don't go to psychiatrist until next week and counselor thinks I should stay on cymbalta. I am staying on cymbalta and seroquel until I see the psych. I don't have a lot of faiths in my psychiatrist. The psychiatrist seemed like the cymbalta and seroquel were really gonna help me....I'm just confused on what I should do. Thank you for sharing that and your right, I need to make changes in my life. The occupation I have is just to stressful and the dailey changes and demands, well I can't physically and mentally handle it any longer. I can't believe I lasted as long as I did. The mess are definitely tough to get use to and every doctor seems to have a new prescription to try. I'm still trying to get use to the counselor and psychiatrist. I told my counselor today that I do not want to see the psychiatrist and want to see some different. My counselor explained that the psychiatrist tries to place an illness on you and that it's the counselors job to give you help and to discuss your problems. I never knew that, figured the psychiatrist tries to figure things out and to help the patient. Maybe thats why I took the psychiatrist wrong. I felt he blew me off, gave me scripts and said you will feel better in two weeks...he was wrong, the scripts havn't done anything...I seem to be adjusted to them tho...time will tell.

I was seeing a counselor and my family doctor had me on medications for depression and anxiety. After two months my counselor referred me to a psychiatrist that works in the same building. I went to the psychiatrist, and the first thing he said was, why do you move like that. I have ticks as I call them, The slightest bit of pressure will provoke them. I told him I don't know why I do them, it happens when I feel stress. Long story short, he took me off my meds and placed me on cymbalta and seroquel. Siad you will feel better in two weeks. I don't feel any better and my anger was increasing. I blew up on a person that knocked on my door. The knock startled me and I lost it. I screamed, yelled, said all kind of bad language toward him and threatened to bodily harm. I then went off and made a mess of the inside of my house. Neighbor came over and I told him to give me time to calm down. about two hours later, I was calmed down and felt embarrassed. I am still on cymbalta and seroquel, I feel really depressed now and yet the slightest thing can spike my anger. Who knows....I'm just broken I guess.

I spoke with my counselor about it and he didn't say much about it. I see the psyc in a few days and will explain how I have been feeling. Last night I felt so depressed, today I am angry and depressed at the same time....I feel I'm going crazy
