Intense Emotions - Regulars Please Read

Hi All,

My DNA results couldn't have been worse. No treatment options; no symptom management available. I've had a couple of days to process the news and three specialist appointments since. Its been a very rough time. I've both shutdown and become very angry. I just feel angry at the world as a whole and I'm angry at devoting so much time to resilience - all for nothing! As the doctors have told me, "Now is the time for acceptance, enduring the pain and trying to keep as comfortable as possible". I have frequent medical appointment in the next three months, merely for review and monitoring. The frequency of my appointments will reviewed after that time. My doctors have shared with me how other people in similar circumstances cope and that has helped me. I've just shut down and don't feel able to discuss the results. I feel like running away from people so that they don't have to share my misery. Despite shutting down socially, I am still experiencing extremely intense emotions. This forum and chat are important safe places for me to stay engaged with. Please be assured that I will do my absolute best to not have these intense emotions spill over to the forum or chat. If anyone does happen to pick up an angry edge to me at anytime, please be reassured that the vibe is not personal, it is just the intensity of my emotion seeping out - and I will do my best to prevent and fix any "emotional leaks".

I intend for this merely to be an information post, so people have an idea things are not good without me having to explain myself over and over. I really don't want it to turn into a pity party thread. I'm too raw with my own emotions, I don't think I could cope with anyone else's. Possibly Kitt you would be kind enough to lock this thread as an information only thread?
