I took depakote for a few years a while ago and don't remember the side effects I was out back on it 5 days ago. I'm taking 500mg a day and it's made me pretty depressed. Just wondering if other people have felt this at the start of depakote and how long it will last

Hi Dominic,

I'm sorry but I've never taken Depakote before so I can't be of much help to your question since I don't have any experience with it.
Remember, that all meds have different side effects and they also work differently for everyone. Sometimes, meds can take a couple weeks before they start working.

However, if you continue to feel depressed, please inform your doctor soon.
