I wrote a long message about my problem, but don't think I entered it right. The bottom line is fluoxetine and omeprazole given for bipolar. My doctor has subscribed it for me, but didn't mention it. I know I have anxiety/depression. Thanks, Dee

Hello Dee,

I'm sorry your doctor prescribed meds and did not inform you what there were for. What did your doctor diagnosis you with?

Omeprazole is used for stomach problems such as acid reflux and even GERD. Maybe he recommended this for your acid reflux problems.
Fluoxetine is used for depression. Sometimes the meds may take some time to work.

I hope the Fluoxetine will help you with your depression.

Thanks for the info ! I had been going to every kind of doctor with a sinus infection. Finally one Sunday morning I was feeling so bad that I went to the ER. After several test they came to me and told me it was my anxiety/depression. Told me to take 3 clonazepam a day and see my doctor. When I saw the doctor he subscribed the Fluoxetine and omeprazole. He didn't say anything about bipolar, but I looked the medicines up on the computer and that's where I got the idea. Thanks again

Dee! I'm sooooo glad I found your post. I too am on fluoxetine and omeprazole. They told me I have ulcers. I'm on the fluoxetine to help with my anxiety. A dr put me on clonazepam and it made my anxiety ten times worse. I went to get a second opinion and that dr took me off clonazepam and gave me lorazepam. I'm still struggling with anxiety and now depression. I'm so up and down all the time. I go see my new dr on Thursday. Maybe I need another change in meds. I've been off work for 3 weeks. I can barely leave my parents house (they won't let me stay alone at my apt). Just know I'm taking the same meds as you. How are they working for you? The omeprazole is working great. I don't really know about fluoxetine. Hang in there!!
