Lamictal experiences??

Hi everyone- I am posting in hopes of hearing about lamictal effects...success with anyone taking it?

I don't have bipolar, I am diagnosed with GAD SAD PTSD. It took me a week to work up the guts to take just one pill, yesterday. I am extremely terrified of the rash as I have obsessively read about it for the past week. I don't want to develop it nor do I want to die!!!

The funny thing is a few hours after taking it, instead of feeling nothing or maybe just drowsy and fatigued as I expected, I actually had the ability to smile, and my mood slightly improved. Maybe this is finally the combo for me. I am also on buspirone and propranolol. Feedback would be great!

Hi JB1- I was wondering if it was placebo as well, however I expected it to make me feel horrible. Today is day 2 and I have the same effect. I am only on 25mg right now and will go up to 50 in two weeks. In my 10+ years of trying to control this I have tried paxil, celexa, effexor, and Zoloft. These 3 meds combined have been my best bet so far. The buspirone was really tough the first month as I had horrible vertigo and brain zaps. That all went away. I believe my body just may be sensitive.

It takes about 6 weeks to be effective because of the slow titrate up. The rash is very uncommon. I've been on lamictal for about 5 years. Sometimes it makes me slowed down and spacey but I've been dreamy since I was a child. It's a good mood stabilizer and also helps with bipolar depression anxiety. It has few side effects. Some weight gain but nothing like seroquel. It's the best acting and mildest mood stabilizer that I've been on.
