Why would my doc

Write me a script for the use of mirtazapine aka Remeron 15mg as a sleep aid? It's a Antidepressant med. I'm already using latuda 80mg, which to be honest, I don't care for the "Side Effects". With that I take abilify 15mg, which has helped out a bit, got 2 week sample from my pdoc.

Per my psychiatrist, I distinctly heard her say, it was to help me sleep. As it is I take for sleeping 75mg of benadryl, I'm a very light sleeper, and even that doesn't help sometimes, on a few occasion I've had to take 1mg tablet of xanax to get me to sleep. The reason for concern is, the fact that AD make my depression much worse. Probably why after 6months I've been sleeping 16 to18 hour days. I'm seeing the
psychiatrist tomorrow, I'll find out then, whats the deal. But thanks for the response.

Update: I explained my situation with doc, about latuda, and she whole hardily agree, for me to discontinue its use, So now we're trying abilify 30mg a day, per her directions, if I can handle it, if not cut them in half an stick to 15mg, along with Invega 6mg. Hopefully I won't be zombied out, like I was with latuda ick, According to her, Remeron at 15mg is considered a sleep aid, that answers that mystery. I'll see what happens
