My Poem-"ESCAPISM!"

I close my blue eyes and relax. Off to my "happy place" I go. In front of me I see, the ocean blue stretching out her arms to welcome me. Swiftly I run towards her and dive into the frolicking waves. Excited as a child I swim and play. Oh, what a glorius day! I love the friendliness of the cool blue waters and enjoy the smell of the fresh sea air. My thoughts are positive. Peace reigns in my heart. I am on cloud number nine. How divine! Onto the sand I run. Building sandcastles and picking up seashells. Above me the seagulls fly in the sky. My laughter fills the air once again. I am just so happy to enjoy this moment of pure bliss. The golden sun shines down on me until the ice cream drips from my mouth onto the piping hot seasand. This is fun in the sun. I slowly open my eyes. Back to reality I come. Grateful that I once again could escape to my "happy place" - the ocean!

PEACE! Here I sit in a quiet spot. All I hear is the trickling of the water of a nearby stream and the birds chirping. I can feel the gentle breeze touch my skin and bring relief from the sun shining down from above. For once my mind is at ease. No racing thoughts or confusion. I can enjoy my beautiful surroundings. All is calm and I can appreciate the peace in my soul.
