Hi there Shannon and others I am copying and pasted what I wrote on add forum here, my son has been on the seroquel and abilify combo almsot 2 months now, maybe 6 weeks, but long enough to know we need to change soemthing. he is improved, but still cries alot, is very angry, wide mood swings, and is very impulsive as you will reas from what I will paste below:

Yes I believe that is good he tantrums everywhere, so you are believed, my children are not complete angels at school, but the teachers and most everyone dont know the half of it, I wish they could be flies on the wall, or maybe I should invest in a mini spycam, if I new how to wrok the camcorder we got I could set it up, but I dont. But the kids do, but I cant ask them, son almost burnt down house yestrday after school. He was trying to something that he said was suppose to take the holographicness off his yugioh card, well 4 hrs later there is a hole in his desk wehre the lamp burnt through amazingly the card is fine. I thought he was just goingto hold the card under the lamp for a little while not set the lamp on top if. I f I had not walked by his room ad saw an orange glow, it we be a whole different story this morning. He will be 11 at the end of novemember, he is extrememly smart, gets As effortlessly, and know more about combustions and fire than I will ever know, he knew full well that what he did could cause a fire. When I showed him what happened he said is the card ok. So anyway yes its a scary though that in 7 years my son will b an adult too. skull  What do I do!! He goes back to phcyh next monday, they are not fond of me, I ask to many questions,and I am too knowledgeable baout the meds, I think depakote despite its horible side effects is necessary, I dont know, is why I am here seeking advice, the hospital we were goign to go to does nto take chidlren under 12, even though he looks 14, he is still under 12. We will have to find a different hospital a bit farther away if neccesary, there is one, but I was researching he would be amonst 5 to 10 years olds, he truly in more then one was is way beyond his years. But maybe that would be best, the older ones are more jaded and he doesnt need to learn anymore bizarre things, know he will be the one to put thoughts in the younger one ears i guess. Sigh, what do I do!! please again any thoughts.....

Ok, you need to find a hospital, any hospital today and quit stalling.  When you found the almost fire, why didn't you call the police?????????   The boy needs help, today.   You are not doing him or your family any favors by waiting until his next appt. 

The kid is downright dangerous and very very sick.    I can't suggest anything else, my suspicions were that Abilify wasn't the right thing to give him.  The doc told you 2 weeks to stabilze.  It's been 6, didn't you tell him a few weeks back he isn't much better?  I would say he is NO better, in fact worse.  If you did tell the doc what did he say?  Why is he resistant to Depakote?  Many many children take it.  It's not dangerous, I don't care what the doc says.  The wrost side effect is weight gain, big deal compared to being an arsonist at his own house.  So what if he knows how to control it, there are many things that can go wrong, and its the PRINICIPAL of the matter, no healthy child would do that.  That is also one of the three signs of the profile of a serial killer, the other two are abuse of animals and bedwetting.  Even if he wasn't bipolar,  it would be cause for alarm, pardon the pun.  There are many hospitals that take children, they get sick too.   Call the police, juvie, they will know of the closest one, and no matter how far you have to go, take him.

I'm sorry if I sound blunt, but you need to face reality, hon.   This isn't working, and your doctor is an incompentent fool.  Let me know your thoughts and please tell me later that you took my advice, for everybody;s sake.

Wow, that is heart wrenching... I really don't have much to add to Shannon's post, but remember who the adult is , at his age and with everything going on , he needs you to make the decisions he is incapable of making. I feel really bad  and I don't know what to say. I am sorry... Please get him the help he needs , it is very important. Followed up with some therapeutic counseling. Take care nad best wishes. My gosh I feel flabergasted. (Is that a real word?)    Kitty

sad  I guess I am stalling because the phych thinks there is is improvement, and there was improvement, but seems that he is sliding back, I a reluctant to call police, as I do not want to go that route, I would rather take him to the hospital, he did not intentially try to set the house on fire with intent to burn the house down, but should have known darn well placing that lamp down face down on the desk would have made it burn. He sees the phych on monday I will reitterate all that is goign on and ask why we are not going with the depakote.
