GibsonGal, I use to play the guitar and keyboard too. But depression took that away from me.
At first, I did not accept that I was depressed. I did not want to attend therapy. More than a year went by before I finally decided to give it a try. I did not like it at first. I'm also not a person who like to talk about
my feelings so it was difficult for me. It took me almost a year before I started to
open up to my therapist. She was very patient. I learned a lot of new things and coping skills that I can use daily. I found therapy to be very helpful. Often, my therapist would remind me of when I now started and I never said anything besides 'Ok' and 'Cool'. She said if she got 2 words out of me, it was a lot. Lol
Therapy may sounds scary, but I suggest you give it a try. But, don't scare yourself thinking about
therapy... Please visit a doctor to get a diagnosis. This is the first step
.
