Can a bipolar spouse whom you stayed with for long give you bipolar by staying with you.

Can it be contagious as my emotions are all over place as my family and ex seem to be indifferent and seem to be indifferent to my cause.

I myself diagnosed depressed and anxiety filled .

I had extreme empathy for my spouse until his hostile feelings threatened my safety.

Can it happen or it's not bound to happen and I am overthinking by everyone and everything and situational thinking. turn cry confused

over thinking situational thinking, stress, traumatic experiences. remember it is a chemical imbalance. time for you to rest. am so sorry for what has happened. self compassion is needed here. healing thoughts.

Hi cilly,

Bipolar is not contagious. Certain environments and events someone may have experienced can contribute towards it.
As HT stated, stress, traumatic experiences, etc...

Your safety is most important. You deserve to be treated with respect and care. Take it one day at a time, or even one moment at a time and you will get through this.

Hey

I agree. Bipolar disorder in itself is not contagious, however, mood, stress, devastating experiences, and sadness can be a very powerful contributing factors to what you are feeling. You can't acquire the disorder but because you spent a lot of time with that person some symptoms got rubbed on you.

Don't worry too much and don't overthink. Think more positive thoughts and just proceed with your treatments for your anxiety and depression. You made the right decision, don't overthink it much.
