Hi Jessie and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling so hot, but please know that there are options. I was first diagnosed with depression and was presenting similar symptoms as yourself; panic and anxiety, depression, irritability, upset, worry, etc. I was later diagnosed with BP II when the doc clued in the that I was cycling.
Although it sounds scary, it can be a positive thing that you have a diagnosis - it gives you a starting point for treatment. If you're not happy with your doc's assessment, seek a second opinion or go back and have another chat - maybe there's something the doc missed that would explain things better. The thing is, most mood stabilizers are generally well tolerated (under a dr's care) and aren't as likely to cause other problems like some of the more potent medications so they can be a good point to start when you're working out the medication mix. The advantage they offer is being able to quickly take the edge off the chaos until you can refine the diagnosis.
The big thing is if you aren't happy with the diagnosis or the medication - go back and talk to your doctor. there are lots of treatment options for all the things that you listed so don't be discouraged if you're not happy with the intial assessment.
Take care and keep us posted,
Putter
