We finally won Cilly over to our side after years on the anxiety forum.
We recruited her very heavily. She was high on our list.
Well, well, well. Somebody else who's been dxed as depressed who is really manic-depressed. What did they do, skip med school? How do they do this?
OK, let me guess: 10 years. 10 years of being misdiagnosed as depressive when you were really manic-depressed.
You went in as depressed. That was your first mistake. Nobody's perfect. Why? Because when you go in as depressed, they dx you as depressed. Why? Because they didn't ask you if you've ever had racing thoughts. How do I know this?
Well, maybe because I was misdiagnosed for 10 years as depressed and I was really manic-depressed. And they gave me an anti-depressant and no stabilizer (like Lithium), which gave me what? Panic attacks. See, it's like a club.
You went from MDD (net says major depressive disorder), to anxiety and panic to schizophrenia and now Bipolar 2. "I don’t understand various diagnosis." They don't either. So don't feel bad.
The difference is, you don't get paid. And you have no retirement benefits. After that, everything is the same.
As for the symptoms of bipolar, Webmd.com says:
Excessive happiness, hopefulness, and excitement; Sudden changes from being joyful to being irritable, angry, and hostile; Restlessness
Rapid speech and poor concentration; Increased energy and less need for sleep; Larger sense of self-confidence and well-being; Being easily distracted.
Is that you?
As for Schizophrenia mayoclinic.org says, "(It) is a serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. Schizophrenia may result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior that impairs daily functioning, and can be disabling."

Very common cilly. Me- mdd, schizo affective, borderline personality disorder then bi polar mixed mood...and with g.a.d. Common to traverse from many a dx, esp with environmental factors, lifestyle, age, work
relations, brain chemistry, etc. bi polar is tough to dx. I agree with this dx fully, i get it, as i did with the others, and with gad now.. The psych world are finding that after a period off having a personality disorder or more, it is common to manifest into a bi polar disorder as the chemical imbalance was progressing from the personality disorder phase, or earlier.HT

If you have no highs or lows, do you think you are anxiety and panic?

A bi polar 3 dx is around, more on the thoughts, and in line with a depressive componant.
This is just from my memory bank, don't quote me on it! HT
