Ok, Here is a new thread. List your best sports moments. Catch, it has to be one you personally participated in or saw live.
Here is one of my great sports stories. When my son was playing T-ball, there was a kid on the team named Victor. Victor was the proverbial T-ball kid that picked dandilions in the outfield and such. In the game against the fearsome, dreaded, first place Tigers, Victor turned 3, yep, three, unassisted triple plays.
Victor played center field, and anytime the ball was hit near him, he picked the ball up and ran it clear into the catcher. Would never throw it for some reason we still wonder about.
The first triple play in the first inning, Victor picked up a dribbler that made it to center field. The baserunners had some confusion and Victor tagged the kid going to second when Victor mistakenly ran into him, then tagged the other two kids on plays at the plate. We figured you would score it 7-7-7-7.
The next triple play in the second inning was similar to the first but the three base runners all ended at second and Victor got two then the third when he stepped off the base. We scored that one 7-7-7-7 as well.
The last triple play in the fifth was the best. Victor actually caught a fly ball. Since none of the opposing teams base runners tagged up, I hollared for Victor to tag the bases. Victor became confused as to if he was on offense or defense. He ran all the bases, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and home putting out all three baserunners. He could not understand why he was not scored a run. If you are scoring that at home, it is a 7-7-7-7 triple play as well.
Best defensive baseball prowess I have ever witnessed. Oh yeah, but we lost the game 15-0.
