My son was diagnosed as bi-polar.  Doctor put him on Geodon along with the Effexor he has been taking for two years - and a timed release Xanax. 

Anyone on Geodon?  He seems to be taking it well - no side effects so far.  He feels calm and better.

TIA for any info.

SoulSmile, first I would like to welcome to HW, I hope you find what you are looking for in the forums.

I have been taking Geodon since the end of May. Right not I am taking 60mg 2x/day. It had definetly improved my moods, but I have had some minor side effects. Mostly feeling extremely drowsy in the late afternoon. Other than that it is not bad at all. I am glad and hope it works well for your son.

i have been on geodon since may of this year. and i have only been groggy when i first started taking it for about a week and then i was fine. i was recently increased from 120 to 160 mg. and was a little groggy at the start of the increase. but am feeling better. i have had no other problems with it. my moods seem better. i'm not as angry as i was. and over all li just feel better. my other meds are different then you sons but i'm doing good. and i hope that it does the same thing for your son. and no side effects either for him.

i forgot to add that your supposed to make sure you take it with food. first pdoc left that part out. but the new one said if you dont its not as effective. just thought i'd share what i knew and was told.
