My 8 year old son was recently diagnosed with Early on-set Bipolar Disorder. I am not a huge fan of medicating children but Am at my ropes end with the violence, mood swings , and constant chaos. I was hoping some other parents out there had some stories of hope and reassurement, or at least examples of children bveing put on this medication..

I don't know about children on this med. But this is the only one that I've ever had any success with, and I've been on practically everything. This med has been a godsend for me. It stabilized me after a 10 month long mixed episode when nothing else had worked and our next option was hospitalization. It can have some side effects but I've found them to be a good trade. I can handle a few side effects if it will give me some normalacy in my life.
