Hi all,   I have been on Lamictal (100mg daily now) for about 2 months now and even though I don't feel like a raving mad lunatic most of the time - my moods are still all over the place.  I'm happy and energetic one mnute and the next I'm sad and crying for no apparent reason, then I'm feeling full of rage - about what?  I don't know.  Also, my anxiety still isn't under control, that's all over the place too.  I've been taking Ativan (2mg morning, noon, evening) since July.  Do you think I should I call the pdoc and see if I can get an appointment soon to address these issues?  My next appointment with him is 6 weeks from now.  Or should I wait a bit longer to make sure the Lamictal is fully doing it's thing?  Advice anyone?    Wen

Wen, CALL THE DR! Whenever you have issues like this going on, call them, that is what they are their for. Appointments are set with the assumption of you doing well, when things go questionably like this - you should call and have the appointment moved up to right away and should not wait through feeling like that. A lot of times they will keep the appointment time and just ADD another by bringing you in right away.

Wen,

You are still taking a low dose of lamictal, most pdocs would say that is not yet at a therapudic level.  I was taking 300mg a day when I was on Lamictal. Like LFW suggested, you should make a dr. appointment and talk to your pdoc about it.

Hi Wen,

It doesn't sound good what you are dealing with. When you call make sure you tell them that you need to get in asap...that you are having serious issues regarding your medications.

I agree with LFW. Appointments are made for checking in and touching base with you. My pdoc always tells me here is your next appt. date, but you know if you need to see me sooner, just call and they will get you in.

Hi Wen,

 

I was on lamictal for a couple months and it made me the same way. When I called my doctor he took me off of it and put me on trileptal. Which I later stopped taking as well. Maybe something needs to be added to it to stabalize you.

Thanks for the input everyone, I talked with the nurse today and have scheduled an appointment for next Thursday to see the pdoc.  I explained to her what's been going on and she agreed that I need to see him.  So next week, I'll let you know what's going on. Thank again everyone, you are always so helpful and able to think clearer than I can sometimes.  That's what makes this such a great family. Take care all, Wen

That's a pretty low dose, Wen. Your doc may need to raise it, as well.

Hello Wen,

 

I'm really glad that you were able to get in sooner to see your doc. Try to remember the things that they taught you last time you were in the hospital. I hope you are able to do whatever it is you have to do to get by until then.

Thanks all, I'm trying to ride out all these highs lows throughout each day - I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster.  Hopefully we can get this straightened out soon.  I hate feeling like this. Thanks for the encouragement and advice.  I may very well be back here to vent or get some hugs or something. Wen
