Hi....I have some questions that I need help on. I am not bi-polar but my dad is dating someone who is. She is tearing our family apart. I want to be understanding of this disease but from all I have read she is using her disease to her advantage. Is one of the smyptoms lying about horrible events that have happened to you that are not true?

Hi,

If bi-polars are not properly adjusted or not on any medications at all, some can tell some tall stories. But anyway, there are always people around like that.

Have you tried talking with your Dad about this situation and how it is effecting your family unit? Maybe you can share the information together.

Welcome to HW and the Bipolar family, I am glad you found us.

I'm with Sukay on this, not every bipolar is like that, and it could be bad if they are not medicated.

I agree with talking to your dad about this and getting his side of the story. Maybe he doesn't see things as you do and this could be an eye opener. Best wishes, and keep up updated.
