Well last night I found a lump.  I thought perhaps since I've been workin out for the past three days it was just sore then I felt it!  I dont know what to think.  I haven't make the call to the Dr. yet so this may take weeks or something.  I'm 42 with a beautiful family.  Is all breast cancer curable?  On one hand I think it's NOT cancer, then I FEEL it and I know in my heart it is.  I'm just afraid and worried.  Will be making that call soon as they open this morning.

Many lumps are benign, so just because you have found a lump does not mean breast cancer. However, that said you need to see a doctor have tests done to find out for sure what it is. A biopsy is the only way to know for sure. They are done easily in day surgery with a minimum of down time. Make that call and get on with it, if it is cancer, the sooner you find out the better. As to your question of whether breast cancer is curable, it is treated more like a chronic disease. Breast cancer has many forms, stages and treatments. But first you need to find out what you are dealing with. Hugs MK

Thanks MK - I was here about 2 years ago and you all helped me with dealing with my mom. Her cancer had spread to the lungs and bone and we lost her 7-6-06. I will make that call just as soon as they open. I'm just scared real scared MK.

MK's advice is solid. Eighty percent of breast lumps are not cancer. This could be any number of other things. But you need to know. It's time for a mammogram and/or an ultrasound. Be persistent in getting answers. Good luck and know that you are not alone. Hugs, Lauri (dxed 4/11/96)

I remember you from when you were here last.  I"m glad you came back.  Let us know how it went and how you're going to keep busy during the waiting period, as there usually is one.  Please keep on posting.  Good luck.  I'm hoping it's just a pork chop bone or something.!!!!!  (old joke of the board.  someone will tell you about it i'm sure, because I don't remember the story).  

 

Many Many types and stages of breast cancer are treatable.  Good thing you checked yourself instead of waiting for a doc during an exam!!!!!

Morning Ladies...
Well Alot happened yesterday and it happened very quickly...
I went to see my Dr. and she checked the lump and scheduled me for the mammo...
I got in yesterday at 3:30 for this mammo...
Dr. said on the mammo he did not see anything but he wants to do a biop on this lump...
This lump I'd like to ask about, maybe one of you out there can help me out...please let me explain...it's a 3x3 (I overheard the Dr say) and it does move...it is NOT squishy...it's rather hard and it's pushing against my skin and rubbin it rather raw...anyhow yes it hurts and it looks like it's bruising and harad as a rock!!!

I know I'm surely not out of the woods on this so I'm still looking for answers...

Dr called me this am said my orders were sent to the Diagnostic Center and they will call me today to set up this biop, she said maybe tomorrow or Monday...

Okay ladies as in your opinion or past history or even posts on here...how am I doing...???...sound okay or should I worry yet...??....I can help anyone in this world and be strong as an Ox...but when it comes to myself I tend to let it go ...to be honest I haven't had a mammo since 2002...and I was scared to death doing that...this is driving me insane...I can't handle my "Own" pressure...sounds silly I know...I tend to get all worked up over nothing...lol...

My very favorite advice is "Don't worry until you know you have something to worry about. Sounds like things are going quickly and in the right order. Not all lumps can be seen on mammograms. 3 x 3 what centimeters or millimeters. 2.54 centimeters equals one inch. Does this lump feel like it is a little over an inch in diameter? Not all lumps feel the same. Some are hard and others are soft.

If you think it is hard dealing with yourself, try dealing with your daughter. My daughter was diagnosed two years after I was and is getting treatment now for a recurrence after eight years. I sure wish I was dealing with what she is. but I am doing OK after eleven years.

Look at your screen name and " Have Faith" that everything will be alright.If something should come of these tests then your Faith will get you through it.This is a Great place to come for support.I feel like these ladies are my sisters,They helped me so much through my Breast cancer Journey they are my angels. Faith, We are all here with you. I think it is great your doctor is taking such an aggressive approach. I know you are scared and worried. Try to keep busy this weekend and let us know when you hear back from the dr. ((((HUGS))))

It is scary at first until you find out what and if you have anything to worry about.  I'm glad your medical team is acting fast.  Sounds like they know what they are doing.  Keep us posted on the results and we are with you holding your hand.

I had the biopsy done on Friday do you believe that?  Everything is moving so quickly...!!!...They siad I may find out tomorrow...

I just want to say to my dear ladi friends - each and everyone of you - Thank you so very much for all the words of wisdom, friendship and guidance you have not only shown me but every message I read...and trust me just because I have not posted lately please know I am here everyday reading everyone posts...and you all are absolutely wonderful and amazing...

No matter what's in store for me with these results I WILL be back....You gave me hope with my mom and the Lupus Forum has helped me with my dad...I love you all so dearly and I dont have a clue what either of you look like...but I can imagine by the tones of your voices and it paints a lovely picture..
