Latest update...

Hi Lori and friends...Thanks so much for asking about me and for all your prayers. It means so much to me...

 

I went on Thursday Feb 14th to start the study. In order to be part of the study I had to have a physical,

Blood work, an EKG, CAT scan, and a Bone scan. I met with my Onc first and got some bad news. The cancer

has spread to my lungs and my Lymph nodes. I was really shocked...and surprised. I started the study as

planned. The study Onc & my regular Onc said that the study drugs could help the lungs and lymph nodes

in addition to the bones. So we are going to try that for 2 months and redo the tests to see if there

is any improvement. If not we will try something different.

 

With this treatment I get an infusion every 2 weeks and I take a chemo pill every day. So far the side

affects havent been too bad...headache, nausea, diahrea and some aches and pains. Hopefully it

wont get any worse.

 {{{Cathi}}} I am so upset to hear about your latest news.  I haven't been on the board for a long time, but check it from time to time to see how everyone is doing.  I have you in my prayers daily along with all the other ladies struggling with this unfair disease.  I hate cancer and for the life of me don't understand why there hasn't been a cure found yet.  I still believe in miracles so hang in there my dear sister.

Cath, thanks for posting and I am sorry to hear of the latest set back...but I feel good about the chemo you're taking, I just get a good vibe and know it will give you great benefit. I hope the side effects aren't too hard for you....

hang in there, relax and let others take care of you when needed. And remember we're here for support and pink feathers...

Dearest Cathi,

Like Ellen says, just keep swimming. You've been through so much but just remember that everything you do and what you go through will help others coming along after you. You are always in my prayers and in my thoughts.

If you start feeling down, just remember Henry. He'll always be special to you because he came at a time you needed him most. He's still there when you need him now.
