Surgery was a success, the resident was pleased as punch with the whole process. My incision looks great, I have steri-strips over the part where the drain was and the rest is just covered with a "glue". They took the entire thyroid out and it sure feels like a bike ran over my neck. I am fine as long as i don't swallow or yawn or move too much. :)

I had a terrible night in the hospital, slept only 2 1/2 hours. My roommate had a lot of needs and a pain pump that beeped all night, plus all the monitors and a couple of older patients that were yelling all night, they had dementia of sorts and were quite loud. I woke up at 3:30 and was so uncomfortable, so much pressure on my back. I spent all night trying to get a comfortable mix for my back, my neck and knees, it was so awful. Too bad this morning, they showed me how the feet lower to put support for my knees and it sure made a huge difference.

Path report in a week, I am not expecting any surprises.

Welcome home, I am so glad to hear you did well. Sorry about your rest. Seems hospitals are the same no matter which one you are in. Once PCE headed in your direction she knew her way by heart. All the ladies had their pink on and PCE knew your addy from all the times she has picked you up for the flights you have taken to be with others. I am so glad to hear you are home. I will be waiting to hear your results are just great. Now for a little chuckle...... Hope this makes you smile...... As you know I was hit once right square in the butt by a Harley in a parking lot as I was walking to my car and ended up with quite a bit of orthopedic surgery..... As I was laying there totally unable to move, I know they got a sale on that plaster....I had the fortune of having my own personal rooster in the room across the hall. My good fortune did not end with a cockadoodle doo at dawn. NO my rooster somehow knew when I was starting to doze off and she would let loose with these very loud cockadoodle doos. Now I bet you smiled with that thought just knowing someone had as rotten a stay as you did. Love,Hugs,Prayers, and Best Wishes to a very special lady. Joyce

So glad everything went okay for you. Whatever you do --- don't laugh! We are all there for you. (Just think about your roommate ---- did she have pink feathers - even when you were not listening??)

Glad that you are home safe and sound.  Put your feet up, put the TV on, and ring the bell for your husband for anything that you. need.

I have been thinking of you! I am glad you are home and that things went well.  Your throat will feel odd for a bit, but it does go away. I had my surgery a year and a half ago and the scar actually looks pretty good now. Be prepared to be very tired once your body realizes that you don't have a thyroid to help stabalize your metabolism. I slept up to 3 hours a day for awhile.

Will you have the radioactive iodine pill? My husband called it the matrix pill. It isn't too bad, but again, be prepared to feel out of sorts.

But, once you get past that and on your thyroid meds, you should feel great!

Glad you're home. Not glad to hear why you weren't. I hope everything is clear sailing from here on out. You've certainly had your trials. Rest up and know we are all thinking about you.

So glad that you are home safe and sound ...! Been thinking about you alot these past few days & hoping that

all was well with you.

Hospital stays keep getting worse...no sleep .. or just as you start dozing someone keeps coming in to see if

you need something to help you sleep. I HATE those pumps that keep on beeping...Grrrrrrrr

Anyways, please let Leigh and Tavish spoil you while you arent feeling great and let us know when you get

the results from the path report.

I am so glad you are home and everything went well.  I apologize for missing the PCE.  Must have gotten the dates mixed up.  LOL  I was there in spirit, though.  That sounds like a pretty awful night in the hospital.  I have back trouble, too, and it is sometimes difficult to get comfortable.  Now that you are home, just relax and take it easy.  I just know the path report will be fine.  But, let us know anyway, so we can all celebrate with you.
