I can't let this day go by without thanking you for all you did for me seven years ago.
I had no where to turn to, so I turned on my computer and you all picked me up and got me through everything that was asked of me.
I will never forget your kindness and the strength you showed me.

Hey Jessie! Celebrating any anniversary is good!!!!! How are you doing? Are you still under treatment? Carolyn had to change chemos this summer. Xeloda was not doing it. She seems to be strong and doing really well on this new stuff. No bad side effects and her blood count is holding its own. She had four transfusions before going on the new chemo and that brought the count to near normal. So I hope you are feeling as well and as strong as she is.

Our 51st anniversary was yesterday. Notice I didn't say we celebrated. LOL Chuck watched football games and I read and messed around on the computer. He had leftover chili for dinner. I found some special deals on Amazon and bought some Knorr Cream Soup Base, so I made some cauliflower cheese soup that didn't turn out well enough to serve to company. The taste was fine, but the texture was like very, very runny mashed potatoes with a million little lumps in it. The recipe said to put the cauliflower in the blender and I was too lazy to get it out, so I tried mashing. Didn't work. Maybe today I will strain the soup and use a hand blender and see if that will work. Otherwise I will eat lumpy soup for a few days.

November 30, 1999, holy cow!

I am feeling pretty well but still more tired than I would like. I've been on med for 4 1/2 weeks but I know it is a lower dose than I will need. I sleep a lot on the weekends, but staying up till midnight during the work week is not helping matters. Just can't break that habit! My tastebuds are slowly returning after the radioactive iodine therapy, but so far, I am doing pretty well.

Married life is fine, we just had anniversary #2 last week. Where does the time go?!

I would get sick of cauliflower too! I made a lot of gazpacho because I have so many tomatoes, but it was giving me a stomach ache after awhile. My neighbors get horrified looks on their faces when they see me coming with more tomatoes- even they are sick of them!

Lori, NINE?? Wowee! That is wonderful and so inspiring.
I am sorry about the s/es of the treatment for the thyroid cancer. I know two women who have had it and they both had a time of it before their docs figured out the right combo of thyroid meds.

Congratulations on your two year anniversary, how great!

I am still single- I think I will probably always be. I do a lot of writing about breast cancer for some magazines and i started a non-profit to help the newly diagnosed and to raise money for promising new research.
