Appointment on Monday for removal of a tumor

I go in tomorrow to have a tumor looked at that is on my shoulder.  No big deal as it is one of those "fatty" (hate that term) tumor.  I have had it for at least 20 years but in the last three months it is annoying the heck out of me.  My only concern is that it is on the same side as my cancer was so hopefully there will be no problem with lymphodema (sp).  So say a little prayer that is turns out to be as little a deal as I am thinking that it is.

DD had a fatty tumor that had t0 be removed from her tailbone. She had it since childhood and had it removed on winter break her last year in college (while she was still on our medical insurance -- smart girl). I know it is no big deal, but it still makes your mind worry. Good luck. Hope all goes well. Hugs, Lauri

Annette, I hope all goes great in surgery. I know what you mean about being bothersome. I have two, one on each side in the same place running along my collarbone. I saw a surgeon but he said the location is a problem for removal, so they are still there. It is amazing how often you reach up and feel them. Let us know what happens. Hugs MK

I hope all went well Annette. My friend just had several removed from her arm and thigh, this was the second time. But surgery was easy, she was back to work after just a weekend had passed. My cousin has them too.

And what a gift from BC...we love fatty tumors now! :)

I am sorry I think I mislead everyone.  Monday was just the "hey here I am doctor and look at this big ugley can't wear a t-shirt thing on my shoulder" visit.  I get to have it removed on November 3rd.  They are going to put me in a "twilight" sleep since I am a big baby and the darn thing is on my shoulder where it would be hard for me to look away while he is cutting into me.  But he says not to worry about the lymph nodes or anything else.  Told me it was great to see me after 9 (count them NINE)  years.  He is the same doctor who insisted on me getting a biopsy even though he was sure it was nothing "but just in case". Did my masectomy way back on 12/30/99.  I owe my life to this man.

Sounds like a great surgeon.  I've been wondering how things went with the doctor visit.  Good luck on the 3rd.

Hi Annette....He sure does sound like a great Doc...to bad there arent more around like him...I will be with you on Nov3.....
