Old ivillage member has a recurrence

Heard from Shelley today that Fran Berg had posted on the iv board that she has a recurrence.  Those of you who were out in Louisville remember that we went to her home one night and were so graciously welcomed.  What fun we had.

Anyway, thought you guys would like to know this and maybe drop over there and post to her.

Strange I was thinking of Louisville when I was posting yesterday and remembering our visit to her beautiful home. Also during the election I was thinking of her as that was what she did political spin doctor! I am sorry to hear about her recurrence, does anyone know more detail?

Also it is good to see you stop by, Glenda. I am always happy to hear from you. You wouldn't believe how well Carolyn is handling her recurrence. She tolerates most treatments very well and is doing greaat on the newest chemo. She has a bone marrow test the day before Thanksgiving and insists on doing dinner the next day, no matter how we argue the point. Hope all is well with you.

MK, Fran posted that she found a new lump in the same breast where her cancer was first found. She had mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy before posting the following:
"I just heard from the pathologist, and I do have breast cancer again. They know it is Ductal and that it is about 1 1/2 cm. The Her2 and Er/PR status are still unknown and they will let me know."

I think she is planning to return to MD Anderson for treatment. That's where she had her initial treatments. Lauri

Lauri, it was not clear if its matastic or a seperate occurence. I also got an e mail from Shelley and was so glad she let me know about Fran. Strange, when I was posting about ten years, how the e mails I got reminded me of so many things that we did in Louisville and I was thinking about how I had not heard a word as to how she was. I guess in this case no news was good news. I was so sorry to hear this was happening to her. I will never forget how wonderful she and all the Louisville ladies were.

You are right, Joyce. I don't know if this is a new cancer or a recurrance. Fran called it a recurrance. Could be a new primary, but the coincidence is too close IMHO. I will keep the HW group posted if I hear anything new. Lauri

Sor sorry to hear about Fran. She was, indeed, a gracious host. I remember when i showed up at her home...she thought at first that I might be Buffy, as I had not been to the earlier festivities. She was so relieved when I told her who i was!

Didn't she post here a few times, when we all first moved here?

Yes, she did post here and I can't remember her screenname.  I have not joined i village because when I joined here, People were fleeing i village!  I was grateful for you ladies and remember Fran and her husband's graciousness of letting us in their beautiful home. 

 

I pray for her and wish to send her my wishes.  anyone remember her screename?  Someone should tell her to come on here so we can show support if she's up to it.
