I went in on Monday for my lumpectomy. They removed the fibro adenoma that was in my right breast, along with the surrounding tissue. She said that she sent this to pathology even though it had already been biopsied "just to be safe". She also went in to remove two cysts that are located on my left breast right beside my nipple. When she came to talk to me after surgery she said that once she removed the two places that they were not cyst as first thought but she is not sure what they are. She said that she doesn't "think" that they look like cancer but that she sent them to pathology hoping to get some more answers. Has anyone ever heard of this? I have been searching the net but can't seem to find anything that looks like a cysts on u/s but isn't once it’s removed. I have had two different hospitals do u/s and both identified them as simple cysts. My husband doesn't seem concerned because she said that they didn't "look" like cancer but I am scared to death. Would she be able to tell just by looking when she doesn't even know what they are? What also scares me is I have many more "cysts" in both breast. We only removed the two because they were palpable and the others are not. Also did your doctor call you with your pathology reports or did you have to wait until your return office visit? I don’t go back until Wed and think that I will be out of my mind by then. Thanks again for all of your wonderful support!!!!!
