Christmas is over and a New Year is beginning soon!

The first Christmas present I had was when my youngest, daughter Chris, called to tell me the biopsies after her bad PAP test were negative!!!! After Carolyn's good news a few weeks before it seemed like a really special gift!  Chris is having sonograms of her ovaries on Monday to check that area.  I feel pretty confident that all is well, because both of Chuck's sisters had funky PAP tests over 25 years ago and the GYN did hysterectomies immediately only to find no problem in the pathology reports.  So perhaps this is the same type of thing.

Now, as for Christmas presents.. we got lots of great presents but I got a security camera system that is going to be hooked up to watch the birds in the back yard.  We have some great birds here and it is getting more difficult to see them at any distance, so this will bring them into my computer area on a TV screen so I can see them up close, even with sound.  Will let you know how it works when it is all set up.  Then I got an iRobot automatic vacuum that is charging the original charge so I haven't tried it yet.  Chris bought it for us and said her coworker has one and loves it.  Not only will it be fun for me, but I can vacuum when it needs done, not when someone is here to do it for me.  Chuck also started some raised garden beds near the house for us to have some vegetables.  Again he will have to do all the work while I enjoy the fruits of his labor.

Dear MK...

The grandbaby was here for 10 days, just went home yesterday, and I've hardly gotten near the computer until today, but what great news and a great way to start the new year.  I had suspicious PAP tests for several years, and it seemed it was just a waiting game for the results to get bad enough to need a hysterectomy, and then they returned to normal readings and, as of november, are still normal, knock on wood.

Only you would use a security camera to spy on the birds!  LOL.  I got a digital picture frame from the kids this year, and my annual set of fiestaware, which I dearly love.  No outrageous gifts this year...somewhat disappointing!  But it was a nice, peaceful Christmas, and a great start for the new year.

Yes, you can't beat our weather.  We have been having quite a bit of rain for about 5 days now.  We need it, but it's cold (for me) and I've had enough.  It's time for warm sunshine again.
