No one knows the exact causes of hereditary breast cancer. Doctors often cannot explain why one woman develops breast cancer and another does not. They do know that bumping, bruising, or touching the breast does not cause cancer. And breast cancer is not contagious. You cannot "catch" it from another person.

Research has shown that women with certain risk factors are more likely than others to develop breast cancer. A risk factor is something that may increase the chance of developing a disease.

You did not ask a question, so I am not sure what to say to you. Researchers have identified gene mutations in some women that may make them more likely to have breast cancer. Yes, there are some risk factors that can again make it more likely to have cancer, but it does not always occur in women who have risk factors. And, some women with no risk factors at all develop breast cancer. You are right, cancer is not contagious. But, I think the women who post here know all of this. Sorry, but I have a feeling that you are preaching to the choir.
