Cathi

Sadly I have to inform everyone that I just found out today that Cathi joined the BC Angels Thursday. I had been sick and did not have my cell on (ask me how I hate myself for that) and just got the message today.  Her sister must not have my home phone number.

I have called her sister and her daughter and I am waiting for them to get back to me. I will let all of you know more after I talk to them. For those of you that did not know Cathi, I really wish you could have gotten to know her. I will post more when I have the info. We promised each other which ever one of us survived would post this and light the candle on the wall of courage, so I will be doing that now as I can honestly admit I am sitting here crying my eyes out. There are no words. I am so sad. The memorial service was today and I missed it. So glad she is out of pain, but I will miss her :(

Thanks for letting me know, Joyce. I knew this day was coming, but it is not any easier losing another of our circle of friends. I will always remember her wonderful attitude and winning smile. Such a sadness. Hugs to all, Lauri

My heart is breaking from this news. There was not a better person on this earth and she was a real trooper when it come to fighting the demon that she had to fight.

Sending hugs to all my breast friends because I know at this moment we ALL are needing them.

I will never forget in Louisville watching Cathi explaining all about the quilt patches on her quilt. She knew exactly who gave her which piece.  That quilt was made with lots of love.     I know that she is up there in heaven having a great reunion with all the breast friends that have gone before her.

My heart is so heavy with this news. When we first met Cathi in person, she was just finishing her first chemotherapy. She was bald and beautiful. And she cried the whole weekend, and talked about how she wished she were stronger, how she wished she could be braver. She has proven herself time and again to be one of the strongest women I have ever known. So much spunk and fight in one with such a gentle, tender heart! She has always been, and will continue to be, one of the blessings I count in my life. Cathi was the closest I've come to knowing that angels are, indeed, among us. And her passing won't change that.

To all her family and friends, I offer my sincere regrets that Breast Cancer, in the end, won out. But Cathi gave it run for the money, didn't she?

What can I say that could possibly add to the beautiful tributes you have all written to Cathi? She was a jewel among many gems! Can you see her now up there in heaven running into Joannie, Becky, Susan and many, many more!!! I love my St Louis picture and remembering each of the special women I knew and loved. Rest in peace Cathi. You are very much loved! MK

Just adding how sorry I am to hear of Cathi's passing.  May she rest in peace.

So, sorry to lose her.  She was a special person.  Will never forget her at "our" first meeting and all the others.  She and I spent several days together with Peg up in Maine.  Luci came too.  Good memories.
