Yeah, the news is not good. The onc is calling it Numb Chin Syndrome which is a signal of "deterioration" of metastatic cancer which lodges in the meninges and lower spinal part of the skull. It hits the nerve which causes the numbness. Onc says there is a hardening in the brain, but not really signs of tumors in the brain tissue. She talked to the dr on the phone on Friday but tomorrow she sees him face to face and is hoping he will put her back on chemo. Internet searches show chemo does not do much but some have been treated with direct chemo injected into the skull spinal column area. Michael says she doesn't want that. She still will not let him go with her to the dr tomorrow but promised him he can go next time. He said maybe she can talk to the dr better if he is not there. I suggested he offer to take her and stay out of the office unless the dr wants to talk to him, but he doesn't want to upset her anymore than she is already. Time frame suggestion on web say four to six weeks. We are going to have memorial service for Chuck on the 27th instead of later. I am coming to Cincy this weekend for a shower for my grand daughter. I will be there a very short time. Thurs pm til Mon afternoon. I will call when I have a chance, Bev. I will be there every month for a weekend for the next four months also. Shower in April then weddings in May, June and July. Whew this family is growing!!!!! Great new additions, tho. Hugs to all, MK

Oh dear, MK, I am sorry to hear this news. It sounds as if Carolyn is taking charge of whatever she can, including who goes to the appointments with her. Sounds like me! I'm glad you have some good things going on in the midst of all the troubles in your world. Take care of yourself...
